This decorative plate is part of the 'Songbirds of the World' series produced by Franklin Porcelain in collaboration with Wedgwood of England around 1977. The artwork was created by renowned wildlife artist Arthur Singer and was officially endorsed by the National Audubon Society, featuring accurate depictions of European Goldfinches among dandelions.

These limited edition collector plates became popular during the collectible plate boom of the 1970s and 1980s. Bird enthusiasts, decorative plate collectors, and those interested in wildlife art particularly value these pieces for their artistic quality and ornithological accuracy. The combination of Wedgwood craftsmanship and Singer's detailed illustrations makes this series especially desirable among collectors.
